Tairoa Cottage
Capture the essence of yesteryear when you stay at Tairoa Cottage. This old house was removed from its original site in the middle of Hawera in 2002, to its present site in the extensive grounds of Tairoa Lodge and faithfully renovated to provide boutique self-contained accommodation.
Tairoa Cottage is very quiet and private set amongst established grounds and with an extensive lawn sweeping to the front of the house. A wrap-around verandah facing North and East provides shelter for alfresco dining. The original matai floors and rimu doors provide warmth to the interior. ‘Understated classical elegance’ describes the all-new furnishings and interior design.
Endsleigh Cottages – Havelock North, Hawkes Bay
The three cottages sit on a hillside property in the country and about a mile from the village. The gardens are extensive. The original garden was laid out when the main house was built in 1914. The garden has been enlarged over the years and now extends to the areas around the cottages.
Small Cottage
The small cottage consists of an enchanting double bedroom, an elegantly styled old fashioned bathroom and a wide veranda. It is surrounded by lovely old trees and cottage plantings. It is extremely popular with honeymooners.
Middle Cottage
The middle cottage is a restored 1920’s home with French doors leading to verandas on three sides with views down the valley and across the plains to the mountains. There is a spacious double bedroom, large sitting room with open fire, fully equipped kitchen, dining room and laundry.
Two Bed Roomed Cottage
The two bed roomed cottage has been constructed in recent times mainly out of older components. There are two double bedrooms, two bathrooms (one of which is an ensuite) verandas on three sides, fully equipped kitchen, dining room, a large living room with open fire and again the cottage enjoys extensive views.
Holly Homestead – Franz Josef Glacier, South Westland
The rimu timbers of this colonial homestead seem to whisper history. Built in 1926 for the Paganini family you can sense that the people who lived here lived well.
Your NZ born hosts Bernadine and Gerard have tenderly refurbished and extended the original farmhouse, staying true to the Arts & Crafts architecture while creating a boutique B&B.
Start your day early with a panoramic view of the Franz Josef neve from the breakfast table. Go exploring at your own pace and come home to a glacial sunset. Enjoy the guest lounge and a glass of port before retiring to your welcoming bed.
