Set in 200 acres of peaceful farmland where our pioneer family has resided for over 100 years. The new building's design was inspired by a historical West Coast homestead/hotel. This unique accommodation offers traditional hospitality in luxurious surroundings, looking towards picturesque Lake Mapourika & surrounded by mountains, 5 minutes drive north of Franz Josef village. The rooms have been individually decorated, named and theme after local pioneers' families. All rooms have views and are centrally heated. We also have a special honeymoon suite with a four poster bed and old fashioned clawed-foot bath. Relax in our guest lounge with large gas open fire or our spa-bathroom. Also have guest laundry and outdoor open fire/BBQ for all guests to use. Hearty farm house cooked breakfast. Your Hosts Marie & Glenn ....Marie Coburn's family was one of the first families to arrive in the South Westland region during the Gold Rush in the 1860's. Apart from a year travelling around Europe, Marie has always lived in this area. Glenn Coburn, also a Kiwi, is a keen outdoorsman, often found doing landscaping, gardening or working on the farm. The couple have a very special nine year old daughter, Sophie-Rose.
