Boathouse
Our premier suite is set apart from the main house, is larger and has a small kitchen - ideal for longer stays. The theme is French nautical with models, paintings, prints and books about the sailor's world. A sumptuous King bed, with fine French linens, feather pillows and comforters ensure a restful, dreamy night. Lie in bed, with your head on the pillow and enjoy magnificent views of the harbour. Complimentary Port, Chocolates, Teas, Coffee, and our special homemade biscuits, along with Mineral Water, and our honesty minibar. Sky TV, Stereo, DVD, Movies, central heating and air conditioning. Provence Suite

Like a trip to France with French antiques and collectibles, and an adjoining sunroom with wide harbour views and a King single chaise longue day bed. The Petite Chambre
Opening 1st November, 2009, La Petite Chambre offers all the luxury and feature of our other rooms in a smaller, yet charming package with limited harbour views and excellent views of the surrounding volcanic mountains at a more modest price. As this is a work in progress, we do not yet have photos of the room to show you, but rest assured that this room exudes all the style and comfort of Maison de la Mer. Ensuite bathroom, Complimentary Port and Chocolates, Mineral Water and a selection of Teas and Coffee. Bathrobes and fluffy towels with our own special line of bathroom toiletries. Your Hosts Carol & Bruce ....Bruce, Carol have led an adventuresome life - and have traveled extensively around the world, and have lived aboard yachts in the Caribbean. Bruce has a lifelong love of sailing, and Carol has a special touch with interiors and older houses. Together, they enjoy books, food, wine, music and gardening. Maison de la Mer and Akaroa are perfect settings for them both to explore their interests - under the watchful eye of Harry, the friendly West Highland White Terrier.
