Matuka Lodge
An exceptional experience awaits those fortunate enough to discover the magic that is Matuka Lodge.
We are the only five star accommodation in the Mt Cook area, in a tranquil rural setting with spectacular views. We have decorated the lodge with contemporary and antique furniture, original artworks and unique artefacts that we've collected during our extensive overseas travels. Matuka Lodge has a casually elegant yet intimate atmosphere.
Every room in the Lodge overlooks our stream fed trout pond and the grandeur of the Southern Alps. You can relax in the sunroom or on the deck and watch the trout lazily swimming by, or rising to pluck an insect off the surface of the water. If you want to catch up on the news from home there's a TV den and library and a guest kitchen where you can make yourself a cup of tea or coffee whenever you like. We have broadband and wireless Internet, so you can keep in touch with family.
We get together between 6 and 7 for a drink and then you can enjoy a meal at one of the great restaurants in Twizel, just 3 km from us.
Spectacular mountain views, personalised service and our tranquil rural setting guarantee your stay will be unforgettable.
